Cold War Music

1931-2023 ✝️

The story of Maestro Alipi Naidenov - conductor, musician, teacher and mentor to hundreds of young Bulgarians, who crossed the Iron Curtain to follow their passion for music in Italy.

Alipi chaired the Conductor Courses at the Sienna Music Academy for over three decades.

In his late 80s, he recalled a life lived in the shadow of a Communist dictatorship with its ever present "secret' agents", yet always absorbed by the beauty of music, and his love for Italy.

Thank you! Such a sincere and touching story... This is a documentary for the great efforts of Maestro Naydenov. With all due respect to his 40 years non-stop fight with difficulties in the name of the Music. His orchestra made many world famous musicians to feel happy listening to its performances.
