Indicted war criminal Radovan Karadzic presented himself at the Hague Tribunal as a 'tolerant man'...

He began his lengthy personal statement on 16 October 2012 by saying he had done 'everything within human power to avoid the war and to reduce the human suffering'...Karadzic said he was a 'mild man, a tolerant man with great capacity to understand others'.

Karadzic suggested that he 'couldn't possibly have been in control of all Bosnian Serb troops'. Images from 1992-1996 would not support this: he was indeed calling the shots, surrounded by psychopaths not by soldiers.

Karadzic told the Tribunal that every shell that had fallen on Sarajevo 'hurt me personally'. It doesn't seem so on this film from the summer of 1992 above Sarajevo.

Episode from Serbian Epic.

Directed by Pawel Pawlikowski and Lazar Stojanović
